He is known for his sense of humor, his intolerance for people who oppose his views and to some people, his unfulfilled promises.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been in power for the last 29 years. He has transformed the country from ruins after its economic, social and political state was in complete turmoil when he took over power in 1986.
He is remembered for the promises he made in 1986 to bring about a fundamental change in the country and some of his achievements are evident today.
At the time, he was celebrated as one of Africa’s sweethearts because unlike some of his fellow presidents, he condemned those who clung to power for many years without allowing democracy to prevail.
However, the “Another Rap” singer is today referred to as a selfish man who has refused to leave power so that other capable people can lead the country.
In an article published on www.musevenimustgo.com, Museveni is referred to as “a man who has mortgaged Uganda’s future around himself, selfishly disregarding every institution, every person and everything around him as long as he is in power.”
That is part of the story of who this powerful man is and one cannot help but wonder how he rose to become the face of the current ruling party called the National Resistance Movement.
